Experiencing the breath taking African bush with its amazing wildlife, there are no words to describe it. Combining our love for nature and Adam’s eye for design, we are able to put into “words” the essence and emotion of every moment of our African adventures.

For us, it’s not just about taking a picture, it’s about capturing the emotion of a moment. It’s about sharing our passion with you and telling the story of that moment. This is our story about falling in love with God’s amazing Creation.

Sam and I

THE DESIGNER HUSBAND

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, a love for the bush was instilled in me at a very young age. As a young boy growing up in South Africa, I have fond memories of exploring the Kruger National Park with my grandfather. However, our trips to the Kruger became increasingly rare as our lives became busier and as interests changed. After high school, I found myself studying Interior Design at Wits University. I qualified with a degree in 2004 and landed my first and current job at a design company, in Rivonia Johannesburg, specialising in corporate design. This has been my “formal” job for the last 14 years.

My fascination for the bush was awakened again when I met my wife to be, who at the time was in her early years of studies in Zoology and Biochemistry at the Rand Afrikaans University. Our first short trip to the Kruger, to scatter my grans ashes over the Olifant’s River, was just the beginning of many nature-filled expeditions together. Soon after that first trip, Samantha bought me my first camera, an old Nikon D60, to capture our trips and memories together. Some of those same images are displayed here on our website. This was the start of my photographic journey into the African wild.

THE NATURE-LOVING WIFE

Ever since I can remember, I have had a deep passion and love for African wildlife and the bush. Living and working in the wilderness has always been an absolute dream of mine. I too grew up in Johannesburg South Africa, but unlike Adam, had never really been exposed too much to nature growing up – for me, it was very much an innate rather than an instilled love.

I finished my honours degree in Zoology with top honours in 2016. Unfortunately, with Adam working in the city, there were not many career opportunities available to me within the conservation and wildlife industry. Taking regular trips to the Greater Kruger National Park and other parks in South Africa has been the next best thing, along with volunteering at various non-profit organisations like Free-Me Wildlife rehabilitation. Naturally our photography came about as we tried to capture these magical moments.

I am currently a teacher/tutor and love spending much time with our beautiful daughter Madison. We try to spend as much time with her outdoors and in nature so that she can learn to appreciate the natural wonders of God’s beautiful Creations. Together, we share a love for all creatures great and small.
